Our strawberry and banana smoothie recipes not only taste good, they are packed full of goodness, they are literally the perfect smoothie mix to kick start your day!
Strawberries:
These sweet little berries have oodles of health benefits including, cholesterol lowering, immunity boosting and wrinkle prevention. Because of the high quantity of antioxidants and other phytonutrients found in strawberries, they also help to prevent and fight cancer along with many other disease and viruses.
In fact strawberries have been prescribed as a tonic for centuries and with only 45 calories and 2.8milligrams of fibre and a 100% of your recommended vitamin C intake in 1 cupful, strawberries are a justifiable super fruit.
Bananas:
Make an excellent smoothie ingredient; they thicken and sweeten the smoothie making it rich, smooth and creamy. The banana also keeps you fuller for longer, so it will stop you snacking in-between meals. So although a medium sized banana comes out at about 100 calories, it still makes an excellent dieter’s food.
Bananas are also well known for their high content of carbohydrates and potassium which make them great energy boosters, but what you may not know is that the potassium can help maintain a healthy blood and heart level which lowers the risk of having a stroke.
