Creamy Banana and Chocolate Smoothie Recipe
This smoothie is an excellent source of calcium and protein, with a little vitamin E to go with it. This is due to the tofu, which is widely considered a health food. Be sure to buy the ‘silken’ type for this kind of recipe, as it’s the only tofu soft enough to blend.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (8 fl oz/250 ml) milk
- 4 oz (125 g) silken tofu
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and chopped
- 1 table spoon protein whey powder
- 1 tablespoon healthy carob powder (tastes like a light nutty chocolate)
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar or palm sugar
Method:
This protein smoothie recipe is really simple. Just throw all the ingredients into the blender and process until silky and smooth. The smoothie may be a little frothy, that is to be expected.
This recipe makes a 2 and a half cups, which makes about 2 portions.
Strawberry and Banana Smoothie with Pineapple
Ingredients:
- 2 bananas, peeled (frozen or soft)
- 1 tbsp protein powder (vanilla or strawberry works well with this particular recipe)
- 1-2 cups natural yogurt
- 4-6 big strawberries
- 2 slices of pineapple
- Ice
Method:
Mix the bananas and protein powder along with one cup of natural yogurt in your blender first. Try to make sure that the protein powder is fully blended in and not just stuck to the blade or the sides of your blender, and ensure its not clumped within your natural yogurt.
Add the strawberries along with your pineapple and blend using a pulse setting til you have the ideal consistency to suit your taste.
At this stage, assess if you would like your beverage to become similar to a milkshake or a smoothie. If you would like a shake texture simply increase the natural yogurt. If you’d like it as a smoothy add some ice.
Blend all the ingredients to taste and then pour it out and serve.

For the strawberry, banana, and pineapple one could I use milk instead of the powder?
