Berries, which often grow wild in fields or even road sides, are a great source of vitamin C and fiber.
Remember that if you’re picking your own berries, be sure to pick those which haven’t been sprayed with herbicides.
Very Berry Smoothie Recipe
This is a fairly thin smoothie that’s very refreshing. If you do prefer a thicker smoothie try adding a scoop of ice cream to the blender. I’ve given the honey to taste depending on the sweetness of the orange and strawberries.
- 3/4 cup blueberry and cranberry juice or just blueberry juice (try ocean spray)
- 1 orange (peeled and chopped)
- 1 cup strawberries chopped and hulled
- 3 tablespoons natural low fat yogurt
- A few fresh blueberries for decoration
- Honey to taste
Method:
Place everything apart from the honey into the blender and blend until smooth. Taste and sweeten with the honey.
