Homemade Almond Nut Butter

Most people don’t realise that they can make their own delicious tasting nut butters that that are totally free from preservative in just a few minutes.

These enticing creamy homemade nut butters are so much better than any you can buy in the store and you know exactly what is going into them. So you can add a little honey if you prefer a sweeter tasting butter and still have a totally natural organic nut butter that will keep in the refrigerator for up to two months.

Here’s what you will need:

3 cups roasted Almonds (unsalted)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons walnut or peanut oil

Method:

Place the almonds and salt into the blender jar (I use my Blendtec Blender).

Blend on a low setting for about 15 to 20 seconds and then turn up the speed until all the nuts have been ground. You may need to turn the blender off and push the ground nuts down from the sides of the jar during in this procedure.

Once the almonds have been ground, add the oil to them. Now you need to blend the oil and ground nuts together to make a thick and creamy paste. Although this is an easy enough procedure, once again you will need to keep stopping the blender to stir the nut mixture, until you reach the consistency required.
