The first two words that spring to mind when it comes to the Blendtec Wildside blender are “Bigger!” and “Better!” A couple of important upgrades have increased the speed on this Blendtec HP3A blender to insure that all ingredients are well blended.
The main difference between the standard Blendtec Total blender and the Wildside blender is the jar. The standard Wildside hp3a blender is basically an upgraded jar that’s designed to offer superior blending power.
- The new jar has a ‘fifth side’ that can hold up to 3 quarts (96 oz) of liquid verses the 2 quarts (64oz) max on the original.
- The new precision blade is 4 inches long for additional reach, compared to the 3 inch blade on the original blender.
With these two upgrades Blendtec are simply raising the bar a little higher to make sure all ingredients are blended well and at the same time gaining a little improvement on their blending speed.
Ok, so now you understand what’s involved with the new Blendtec Wildside blender you have four options to consider:
- Add The Wildside Jar
- Blendtec Classic Wildside Blender
- Wildside Designer Series
- Standard Original Blendtec Total Blender
The new Jar is designed to be compatible across all of the Blendtec home blender range, so you can purchase the jar on its own as an upgrade to your current machine, as a replacement jar, or even as a backup jar so that you can alternate and prolong the life of each.

Classic Blendtec Wildside Blender – Comes With Wildside jar
For around $50 extra you can purchase the Classic Wildside package which gives you all of the benefits of the Total Blender, the only difference is the upgraded Wildside Jar.

Blendtec have also recently taken things a little further with their Wildside blender, adding another great function. The new Wildside Designer series incorporates a touch screen interface that works just like the latest mobile phones.
The neat thing about this is that you operate it by just running your finger over one of the controls. When you switch the appliance off, the lights go out leaving a sleek black finish; I have to say that it looks great!
Blendtec are also claiming that they have improved the motor with a more sophisticated speed control. This should make it run cooler and reduce noise.
Est. $454 – £599 /
You can forget all of this and go for the original machine which has stood the test of time and is loved by many. Check out the full Blendtec Blender review for detailed information.
