Cuisinart kitchen appliances are well-known for their good quality in terms of beauty, functionality and durability. There have been many hits along with some misses over the years, which are to be expected in the competitive market of kitchen appliances, but the hits outnumber the misses.
We are confident that the Cuisinart stand mixer is one of the hits manufactured by the corporation.
Each new purchase of the Cuisinart stand mixer also comes with a recipe booklet and a product manual, which we understand is standard procedure for the manufacturer. Also, the product has a limited 3-year warranty while the motor has a full 5-year warranty, which is certainly more than what we can say for other brands of stand mixers.
The Cuisinart stand mixer offers the following technical specifications and features.

Let’s first discuss the performance of the mixer. Each purchase of the Cuisinart stand mixer comes with the chef’s whisk, mixing paddle and dough hook, all of which work as expected.
We find that the three attachments work best with large batches but when double recipes are used, the Cuisinart stand mixer works just a bit harder although it still gets the job done.
The 7-quart stainless steel mixing bowl can accommodate large batches of recipes with a few consumers even using it to make double recipes.
But we don’t suggest making extra-large batches, say, four loaves of bread, with this mixer, since it cannot handle such a large job in one go – despite the manufacturer’s claims. So if you stick to just 1-2 loaves of bread per mixing session it works just fine.
The splashguard keeps the ingredients inside the bowl and liquid ingredients can be added via the pour spout, thus, eliminating the need to remove and then cover the bowl after every addition.
Both of these features are great in our books, along with the quick access to the bowl and easy changing of attachments with the tilt-head function.
We love the slow-start function as it allows for gradual addition of ingredients.
Add in the gentle-fold function for recipes that require careful blending of ingredients and the Cuisinart stand mixer is near the top of our list of very satisfactory kitchen appliances.
Yet another feature of this stand mixer that adds precision to the mixing activity is the 15-minute countdown timer. Basically, you can leave the mixer to do its work for a while without worrying that the ingredients will be over-mixed.
Add the auto shut-off and your eco-friendly conscience will like this stand mixer.
Optional Attachments and Accessories
Let’s move on into the optional attachments and accessories.
These dedicated attachments can be purchased separately, the attachments will turn the Cuisinart stand mixer into a citrus juicer, a meat grinder, a food processor, a blender and a pasta maker.
We find that these attachments extend the functional uses of the SM-70 stand mixer although the additional costs may not be within everybody’s budget.
If you want to use the stand mixer for other purposes, we suggest buying the attachments. With its 3 power outlets, the Cuisinart SM-70 stand mixer makes the use of these dedicated attachments so much easier.
For example, the high-speed power outlet is used for the food processor and blender attachment while the slow-speed outlet is for the pasta maker and meat grinder attachments.
In many ways, the SM-70 Cuisinart stand mixer can be an all-in-one kitchen appliance. However, if you already have the optional attachments as separate appliances, why spend extra money?
Clean up is simple. Using a damp cloth, wipe the power unit. The bowls, attachments and other removable parts are dishwasher-friendly.
Most consumers think that the Cuisinart SM-70 stand mixer works well and are quite happy with their purchase, except for a few comments about stated capacity.
Then again, if you want commercial stand mixers with industrial capacities, the SM-70 is not the right choice. To date this mixer averages 4.5 stars from 0ver 400 reviews on Amazon.
For home use, however, the Cuisinart stand mixer works just fine where we are concerned. Its $350 price tag is reasonable considering the above mentioned merits.
